Throwing basic punches and kicks is a great way to start learning self-defense techniques. Here are some tips to get you started:

  1. Basic Punches:
  • Jab: Step forward with your front foot and punch straight out with your front hand. Your rear hand should stay close to your chin to protect your face.
  • Cross: Step forward with your rear foot and rotate your hips as you punch straight out with your rear hand. Your front hand should stay close to your chin to protect your face.
  • Hook: Pivot on your front foot as you swing your rear hand in a semi-circular motion to the side of your opponent’s head or body.
  • Uppercut: From a crouched position, punch upward with your rear hand, rotating your hips and bringing your elbow up toward your chest.
  1. Basic Kicks:
  • Front Kick: Lift your knee and extend your leg straight out, making contact with the ball of your foot.
  • Roundhouse Kick: Pivot on your supporting foot and swing your leg in a circular motion, making contact with your shin or foot.
  • Side Kick: Lift your knee to your chest and extend your leg to the side, making contact with the heel of your foot.

Remember to practice each technique slowly and focus on proper form before trying to increase speed or power. It’s also important to warm up properly before any training or practice.
